A former U.S. Navy sailor who fatally stabbed his wife and hid her body in a freezer for two years before dumping her in San Diego Bay has been sentenced to prison.
Matthew Scott Sullivan, 36, was convicted last year of second-degree murder in the October 2014 death of 32-year-old Elizabeth Ricks Sullivan. He was sentenced Friday to 16 years to life in prison for the killing.

How do the cops not check the freezer in the garage when looking for her? Too bad there is no death penalty in CA.

Really. Maybe she was only there on paper before she was found. 16 years is light, but who knows. It's rumored his last word to her was chill.

Not condoning what he did in any way, but why in the world did he not just keep the body in the freezer, and then lock and sink the freezer in the bay? I mean 2 years has gone by, upgrading a freezer would be a normal thing to do. And there are far more stranger things then a freezer at the bottom of that bay. Stupidity is what got this idiot caught.

SFC (Join to see) - The world gets hit by a slightly more deadly version of the flu, and what is the thing they do - they hoard toilet paper. That is the world we live in. Humanity is not going to change. "Civilization" is but a mask. I have seen first hand the atrocities we humans are more then capable of doing to each other. No amount of wishful thinking is going to change human nature. For a moment, I thought you had a moment of awareness with your comment about human being inherently violent. Alas I was wrong.
