The Tax By The Mile plan seems like it might be a reality.
(Short vid clip) Pete Buttigieg, a small town mayor who was appointed Transportation Secretary as his reward for dropping out of the Democrat primaries last year, said that taxing drivers by the mile “shows a lot of promise” and could be a way to fund a big infrastructure overhaul.
This won’t be hard at all on lower to middle-class hardworking or retired citizens after the financial hardships of Covid lockdowns in the United States.
Also, it was reported last week that Joe Biden was planning to propose the first major federal tax hike >since 1993 to fund a plan to tackle climate change, infrastructure and other Democrat specific-projects.
The tax plan could hit people earning $200,000 a year as Psaki had said Biden’s $400,000 threshold for tax increases applies to families, not individuals.

not sure of this tax by the mile, if it applies fuel using vehicles, it will be a terrible tax on rural areas that must travel many miles to reach a larger shopping area, and will make products sold in the rural area much higher because of the road tax

More government oversight? Just what this nation needs. Bad enough trucks have to pay high road use taxes, get weighed, and I understand some states require trucks to refual before leaving that state. This guy, and current administration, are cuckoo.

Another regressive tax. Just remember all you low and middle income people that push for this green stuff, you will be hurt more than the wealthy. Higher gas, now road tax. Do you think the wealthy really worry about it? No, but a low income person sure does if they have their own vehicle.
