Sorry, dozens of Military organizations don’t shave and their masks make a pretty good seal, actually perfect, we could also talk about the bearded millions who wear Bipap masks nightly with no mask leaks.

Concur that a small beard doesn’t hurt mop gear, mark V, EAB or Scott Pack face seals… 14 patrol/submarine deployments… I lived in that shit… oh and submarine uniforms were the best!

Nice of them to elaborate on number 4, as to why WWII and Vietnam vets left their chinstraps off.

Chin straps were left loose to keep helmet from strangling you when you were receiving arty fire. So we generally just left then loose. Also the straps didn’t have quick release devices on buckles
