SFC (Join to see) After twice reading that article I did not see any mention of recycled plastics. Other sources say the re-cycling effort is stymied due to our recycled plastics not being clean enough to be accepted by China’s for remanufacture. Local trash companies claim to no longer profit from collecting used bottles and cans. I save water bottles and aluminum cans I have rinsed for the local school. The school received a 5 cent refund for each item.
Where do those CA Recycle bottles go? Why are they not being recycled?

Great catch, I was reading the article and the supply disruptions mostly caught my eye. I don't know what's happening with the recyclables. A little over a year ago the recycled plastics around here got much more difficult. They wouldn't accept the screw on tops and hours at the recycling center went way down, with no hours on weekends. Something isn't right, maybe you found out why. As long as the school is still getting the money, that's a good thing.

On our three mile daily walk my son does can gigging. On most days he picks up at least five cans. When he get a ton or so he takes them in for recycling then takes the money to the Ronald McDonald House.
