LeBron James wants accountability? What about not resisting arrest? Obeying probation orders? Not trying to “stab the f—-k out of” people you are having a confrontation with? What about not getting your rear end so high on drugs you are nearly overdosed then driving while intoxicated to pass a fake $20? What about not running from police with a gun in your hands then turning to confront police? LeBron request any accountability in any of these situations ?

Elijah McCLain - walking home. Botham Jean - eating ice cream in his apartment. Breonna Taylor - asleep in her home. Philando Castille - traffic stop. Daniel Shaver - in his hotel room. Sandra Bland - traffic stop.

I mean I can keep going with the list of people who were unarmed, who didn't resist, who were not even committing any crimes and were killed by police. So where's your "comply or die" bullshit for those?

Or how about the multitude of videos of aggressive white people who don't comply - and don't die? Who get arrested without incident? Is that ok?

It's just mind boggling to see how certain people are okay with police abusing their authority and badge. It's also mind boggling to see how certain people criticize celebrities on their opinions and not others.

SFC (Join to see) - there are plenty of white people that die, as a matter of fact more white people are killed by cops than black people.

He didn't "point a mob" at anyone. He said there should be accountability. That was it - and then right wingers started to use his tweet to spur anger and violence.

"Linneman added that if President Donald Trump or Joe Biden made similar comments, there would be calls for "impeachment."" - The President is comparable to a NBA player? Really? That's where someone wants to take it?

""They just need to play the game and that’s it," he said. "Their opinion doesn’t really matter. They’re using their position to push their opinions, and that’s just not right."' - No their opinion doesn't matter because it's not their opinion too. I don't understand how certain people say that entertainers need to "keep their opinions to themselves" but they elected a REALITY TV star to the presidency. So it's basically entertainers keep your mouth shut, unless it aligns with their beliefs.

This that was probably a separate link to another article in the story: "OJ SIMPSON HITS LEBRON JAMES FOR OHIO COP TWEET, SLAMS MEIDA FOR PORTRAYING ‘EDITED VERSIONS’ OF STORY"

OJ Simpson is not someone anyone should be listening to though. He has a right to his opinion - but if anyone takes advice from him or puts weight on his opinions has serious issues.

If that bar owner doesn't want to show NBA games - cool. But isn't that cancel culture? I thought only "leftists" did that. Hmm. Weird.

If I'm not mistaken he texted "you're next". He needs to realize that he's a god to +50M people. Think about that. If you rule the mob, or carry a weapon in you pocket, you have a huge responsibility. You can't afford to be angry on minute, and then say "oh sorry" after someone's life has been ruined, or worse yet snuffed out. The key is having responsibility for you power. I realize it's easy to want to let people off the hook... but if their last named begins with Trump, Biden, or James, they all need to be held to the same standard. A life is a life. MHO

Yeah I'm not sure where this "violent mob" was at. I guess "cancel culture" is ok when it's something conservatives agree with.

Excuse me but to my knowledge no one said “violent mob”, maybe it was buried in the article and I missed it. What are you talking about? That being said most sane people realize that mobs can become violent very quickly depending on what their leaders project, we witnessed this time and time again in 2020 when neighborhoods and businesses were burned and looted; and typically, won’t be back to normal for 10 to 20 years and that... I apologize that I digressed but I can go on and on for what common folk lost in last year’s riots.

Back to the subject at hand, Mr. James. It proves that Mr. James was wrong when he deleted his tweet, doesn’t it? At the very least he was afraid what his words could lead to... and that speaks volumes, at least it appears that way. Now he could be the uniter and say: Hey I was angry but after reviewing the data this appears to be righteous. We need to let the authorities investigate and settle it out… but no. Mr. James just deletes his words and lets his followers try to think for themselves. Good luck with that. No, to me it appears Mr. James is just any arrogant man who can’t admit when he’s wrong. That can be pretty dangerous when you have 50M followers.

What do you think about Mr. James original tweet and then deleting it? Then saying: “ANGER does any of us any good and that includes myself! Gathering all the facts and educating does though! My anger still is here for what happened that lil girl. My sympathy for her family and may justice prevail!” This message is incoherent, what the heck is he saying? Is he on drugs or what? No guessing, we need to know. I can go on for quite a while about this but I won’t, simply to me this says Mr. James is not capable of accepting responsibility for his words. How sad. MHO. To me professional sports are dead because of stuff like this, how sad to me personally because I used to be a player on a small college level and looked up to players like Mr. James. I shouldn’t say that because in my opinion Mr. James can’t hold a bucket for any of the players back then.

Thanks for your comments but I don't understand why you made them: I don't remember anyone speaking about violence, and saying your next, well we all know what that means. Accountability means whatever one wants it too.

Thanks for spurring me to investigate this further, from the article it quotes in part:

"You're not the guardian of me," Bryant replied, according to the story Moore said she was told.
"They argue all the time," Moore recalled, "but I never thought it would escalate like that."
Moore said she received a frantic call from one of the former foster children, who is seen in police body camera footage wearing pink and recoiling as Ma'Khia lunges at her with a shimmering knife….
"We don't yet have all of the facts but we do know that a 16-year-old girl, a child of this community, tragically died last night," Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther told reporters on Wednesday.
"Bottom line: Did Ma'Khia Bryant need to die yesterday?" he added. "How did we get here? This is a failure on the part of our community. Some are guilty but all of us are responsible."

This is where I differ with the article, only one is responsible for what happened here, it is Ma'Khia Bryan plain and simple. It is tragic that someone so young could choose the path she did. The bottom line is when someone is willing to plunge a knife into another human being, they have to take the consequences for it, no matter how tragic it is MHO

SFC (Join to see) - YOU said violent mob. It's on your first paragraph.

"Taking a post down doesn’t make everything equal when you wrongly point a 50 million follower mob after someone. If James is so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY, why doesn’t he start by first apologizing, and then taking down the violent mob post?"
