My brother has a Tesla, and he says there are already charging stations throughout the country. As the technology improves fossil fuels will be outdated. Remember when cellphones in the 1980s were the size of WWII walkie talkies and didn't hold a charge? I welcome new technology.

I don't think electric is the panacea that the government thinks. New technology is fine but in this case a whole lot of study needs to be done, a lot of infrastructure to support recharging will need to be built, and the rapidity of recharging will need to be addressed. For inner city driving this could be great but interstate distances is more problematic. imo.

I remember the improvements made in the past 60 some years, we lived through them. If the business is there, and business puts the infrastructure by demand, I'm all for it. I’m a logistics type of guy and I know some teams on the road that drive coast to coast basically nonstop to make their money. Depending how long it takes to charge these beasts, it could take quite awhile longer to get product to market, that means $$$. I personally believe electricity will not be the energy transportation answer we are looking for. Time will tell, especially if we’re throwing $100 million at it. Loke I said: I hope my gut is wrong on this one.

I agree with you. when people have to start paying for this they will find out how costly and inefficient it is...

May be necessary, just read that there is a severe shortage of long haul drivers.
