Be afraid. Be very afraid.

From the article:
"Members of the Civilian Climate Corps would receive on-the-job training and work with community groups on initiatives to "reduce carbon emissions, enable a transition to renewable energy, build healthier and more resilient communities, implement conservation projects with proven climate benefits, and help communities recover from climate disasters."

Translation:
Another layer of federal government to tell people how to work and live, and to report on people who were not 'toeing the political line'. Sounds suspiciously like the role of "Community Organizers" being formalized as Federal employees.

Didn't the Soviets have a name for these people? Ah, yes... Political Commissar. The Nazis had a similar role called Nationalsozialistische Führungsoffiziere (NSFO; "National Socialist Leadership Officers").

These Climate Corps Officers will be nothing more than imbedded political rats placed to ensure everyone was being a good little Fascist/Communist, and to ensure we faithfully live and recite the approved Green Manifesto.

I'll pass.

PFC (Join to see) - Even with a gun. You'll never again take over a flight. It's a dead end and the passengers know it. They knew it on the Pennsylvania flight and fought anyway and augured in. That attack vector is forever closed. And there are plans and means in place to assume control of any compromised flight and remotely pilot it to prevent this from happening, or QRF assets in place to blow it out of the sky if they cannot control it. Never happening again.

Col Jim Harmon but it still goes to show you how stupid the average american is sadly to even attempt to take something like that on a flight as a carrier on.

PFC (Join to see) - Fully agree. The average American today is operating with a sixth grade level reading comprehension. That's an educational metric of our decline. I couldn't even begin to quantify the common sense decline of our population that eats Tide Pods, or needs warning labels to tell them not to drink the contents of a car battery.

Downhill slope and it is getting steeper and slipperier by the day.

Col Jim Harmon - >>larger operative<< conditioning effort to have us willingly surrender our rights to the government in exchange for the >>perceived<< value of security. - Yup.

I'm curious, how many of you saying this is a terrible idea also believe President Roosevelt's New Deal was a terrible idea?

Me. I firmly believe the New Deal was a horrible idea.

The New Deal did nothing but prolong the Great Depression and worsen it. It also served as an excellent spring board for Roosevelt to introduce Americans to socialist ideas and government programs.

That National Emergency is not too dissimilar to what is happening today with COVID.

Little House on the Prairie literally took place in America. So it is already here.
