Yes. I’m certain I have GWS but can’t get the VA to even talk to me about it. One VA doctor told me they are already treating me for pain and blood clotting so there’s no need for a “diagnosis.” I disagree. I’ve done my research and I’m certain I have at least 75% of the symptoms from pain, skin rashes, gi issues and the biggest, blood clotting (I went through a complete work up for 2 DVTs and 2 PEs and there are no genetic markers or any other identifiable causes for me to have developed blood clotting. Not a single familiar incidence. Now I’m on Xarelto for life.)

Tough challenges COL Petray, I appreciate your sharing. If I may suggest, please review the valuable information the VA publishes on Gulf War Illness (GWI). Take a close look at the GWI “Presumptive’s.” Also, you will come across a hyperlink to Environmental Clinicians across the nation, please consider setting up an appointment in order to receive a diagnosis from a VA professional trained in GWI mitigation: https://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/meyh/publications/index.asp

I have 3 surgeries on the left side of my body, kidney cancer being the worst. I also have Parkinson's Disease. Could just be a coincidence. I'm a Desert Shield/Desert Storm vet.

All Gulf War Veterans (GWV) should have an individualized Gulf War Registry Health Exam for Veterans: https://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/gulfwar/benefits/registry-exam.asp
