I remember that razor blade slot in my parents house. Saw many homes with intercoms when house hunting while I was in the military but never bought a house with one. We renovated our kitchen a few years ago and one of the first things to go was the phone jack on the wall.

Yeah, back in th day, the kictchen always had a wall phone with a long extention.
Our house, we had one phone, and that was located in the living room, later, when there were no more party lines, my father had a phone in his bedroom, but that was connected with the phone in the living room.
My sisters, hated that phone in my dad's bedroom. Lol
