This also applies to officers, make sure you have the right Awards on your uniform and if you have a presidential unit citation that was from your old unit, retake the photo! Go to get your da photo early because sometimes they are booked. Get your picture retaken if you get a second Award of any kind where you have an oak leaf cluster added to your award.

I had to settle for 1st class pt scores I could never ever get 3 miles under 18 minutes. I wish I knew about interval training back then, my answer to time was running further. Obviously that didn’t work, it increased my endurance , but I also maintained my pace, but it didn’t reduce my times, interval training expands lung capacity.

When I was younger, I used to get 300 PT all the time. It opened up a lot of doors and got me Instant Respect. This applies to everybody officer and enlisted

Do like I did back in 68-69. I was a Detachment SGT of a detachment having between 1-50 soldiers on a daily basis, all Deserters pending CM ,discharge or return to duty. Worked by tail off, sometimes 20 hours a day, 7 days a week, doing a job no one wanted. Heck, Drill sergeant had better hours then I did. The month I was in the zone, I got promoted.
