Wow I am glad that Cecil Stephens was finally honored Friday with the Purple Heart for being wounded in the Battle of Okinawa on May 14, 1945 SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL That is an amazingly long time to wait for an award. I am glad that he was alive when he was awarded the Purple Heart and hopefully his family is proud of him.

LTC Stephen F. It is a honor to hear of such deserving merit, especially from WWII.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL - I expect that Cecil Stephens never complained because he did not receive the Purple Heart. I think he probably knew way to many friends who were killed on that foreign island so many decades ago.
