Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Why do we decorate the ship, people fly flags at their homes, yet no one who is living these days may even know why. Some will ask “Why did so many have to fight and die? “

We are truly blessed to live in this great nation. A nation where so many have fought for a belief that freedom was so precious it was worth dying for.

My suggestion is this. Think about age appropriate books and topics with your children. My father gave me a book to read called MILA 18 which was about the Jewish Resistance Fighters in Poland. The writer is phenomenal writer. Through that book I learned about the holocaust and all the immense facets of horrific facts. My 13 year old mind shut down down with confusion. The question of how could people be so evil blew out my circuits and threw me through a couple years of depression. I hope this has any relevance.
