Today a piece of bi-partisan legislation was introduced in Congress to reauthorize the Department of Veterans Affairs' Highly Rural Veteran Transportation Program, which allows for no-cost transportation for rural veterans to VA facilities. If passed, this legislation would help ensure that rural veterans receive the care they need and deserve!

This is something we really need do to medical needs there’s a lot of vets that can not drive, I should know I’m one of them.

Great to see this coming back. I know a lot of my patients depended on the DAV and programs like this to get a ride to the hospital that often times is more than an hours drive away.
Would be nice to see the VA throw more money into outpatient clinics expanding services for the main needed services such as primary care, audiology, optometry, lab, and mental health. They also could continue expanding telehealth including home telehealth.
