It is interesting that under Dem presidents, States seem to remember and assert their independence and sovereignty. Wish it would continue.

Texas used to be part of Mexico and still has a significant amount of familes on both sides of the border. Legal immigrants and seasonal workers have never been an issue. The state treats them a lot better than California or Arizona under state law and it's one big reason why Texas has such an excellent working relationship with the Mexican government unlike Arizona and California.
