I just downloaded the book and read it. Impressive - worth the download and time to read it.

As a side note, the Chief and I share a few assignment locations, maybe at the same time as well - Ramstein AB Germany, March AFB CA.

Sir, I had the honor of learning from Chief (ret) Vasquez at USAFA. He has written several books and is still very active while working there. He has quite a list of exceptional readings he recommends, as well as delivering powerful speeches and presentations to all cadets there, in particular the freshmen class.

Sir,
He had quite a few books he read and recommended in his lectures. He was the primary briefer for VECTOR, which was the freshmen seminar class. In that book, he recommended the following (circa 2007, I'm sure it has updated since then):
-"Heirpower! Eight Basic Habits of Exceptionally Powerful Lieutenants" by CMSgt (ret) Bob Vasquez
-"It's not about the Bike" by Lance Armstrong
-"Winning Every Day" by Lou Holtz
-"Integrity" by Stephen L Carter
-"It Takes Commitment" by Chad Hennings
-"First Things First" by Stephen R Covey
-"Maximum Achievement" by Brian Tracy
-"Awaken the Giant Within" by Anthony Robbins
-"A strategy for winning" by Carl Mays
-"The edge" by Howard E Ferguson
-"The 7 habits of highly effective people" by Stephen R Covey
-"A gathering of Eagles" by Jimmie D Coy
-"The greatest generation" by Tom Brokaw
-"My American journey" by Colin L Powell
-"Leading Minds: The anatomy of leadership" by Howard Gardner
-"It doesn't take a hero" by H. Norman Schwarzkopf
-" Paradigms" by Joel A Barker
-"Some do care: contemporary lives of moral commitment" by Anne Colby
-"Leadership and the quest for integrity" by Joseph L Badaracco
-"Duty first: West Point and the making of American leaders" by Ed Ruggero
-"The Wild Blue: The men and boys who flew the B-24s over Germany" by Stephen E Ambrose
-"Patriot Hearts" by William T Coffey
-"Excellence: at what cost?" by US Naval Academy Character Development Center
-"The Warrior's honor" by Michael Ignatieff
-"Return with honor" by George E 'Bud' Day

In addition, two other books I received from him in my time there are:
-"The Tiny Warrior: A path to personal discovery and achievement" by DJ Eagel Bear Vanas
-"It's your ship: Management techniques from the best damn ship in the Navy" by Captain D. Michael Abrashoff

Hope this provides a good start

Downloaded it and am going to start it soon!

From the sounds of it, itll be a good read and hopefully many people can read and learn from it! We can only get better from learning from others experiences

SSgt (Join to see), The Chief's writing style is unique, humorous, and really drives home the point. If you like this one, check out HeirPower (linked in this thread) and So you want to be a Chief.
