Exactly my point! CRT is an academic viewpoint like Freudian literary theory, Queer theory, deconstruction, etc. The theory is not being taught to children, it is a subject often studied in colleges. Any discussion on racism must deal with how laws, Jim Crow, were used to segregate and subjugate people of color, else one is "whitewashing" history. Excuse the pun.

LTC David Brown - The course was called "Sociology of Change" and it may have been teaching CRT; however, it is not clear. What were the requirements for the class? Did he complete all of the course assignments? I am sceptical. From my experience with students, they sometimes do not tell the whole story. I had a parent go straight to the principal and accuse me of making the child defend the legalization of marijuana. The assignment was to write a persuasive essay and take a position on a controversial topic. The student chose to defend that position. When I gave the principal a copy of the assignment, it was true that it was one of the choices on the list of possible topics. Unfortunately, the student did not show that to the parents. The assignment also stated that the choice of topics may be controversial and the student's choice should be discussed and approved by the parents. The student told his parent that that particular topic was required by me when in actuality, there was an entire list of topics from which to choose.

Critical race theory, and I emphasize theory, was established as a concept in law classes. Others began to develop the theory and its applications to other academic subjects.

What I see as a problem is that some people want to prevent any discussions on race in schools. When I teach literature, can I not discuss race as it was represented during literary periods like Reconstruction? Can I not discuss Jim Crow laws? These are some of the problems that some of the more recently enacted laws have presented. Those laws have affected teacher attitudes and the fear of what can and cannot be taught by educators.

SGT (Join to see) - This is also a school that is a charter school, thus the charter schools have more leeway to teach as they see fit for their particular school. Don't go crying that the charter school run by Catholics teaches religion only from the Catholic perspective.
I feel for educators who are trying to teach history as it needs to be taught, complete with the racism, sexism, etc. and how that has influenced the way history is seen. How many really knew about the Tulsa Black Wall Street Massacre or the Osage murders during the 1920s? Probably not many until more recently. How can you teach what is really being written in "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" if you don't understand the history behind it?

SrA John Monette - About the same number who teach the correct history of the lynchings of and land stealing from Mexicans/Mexican-Americans that occurred in the Southwest or the treatment of the Chinese laborers in building the railroads, etc.

Critical race theory says that racism is inherent in our institutions and structures of governance is what he is supporting. Is that really true?
Racism has moved from the individual level to America is racist. If you believe America is racist, then every institution is racist. That is what the General is supporting.
CRT is meant to divide by color. it will cause extreme groups to grow and our civil war will get warmer. You will see it as more attacks on white police officers, attacking and calling racist anyone not in favor of CRT, shootings of people taking walks in neighborhoods, defunding the police in cities that need policing, toppling of statues without votes to do so, words within culture being changed like the word Woke to mean understanding civil struggle or agreeing America is a racist country, elevating some groups above others, attacks on Asians for no reason other than they are Asians, people unable to discuss a subject due to hate and judging by color. The belief some are victims.
Once, the American military was an example of moving forward through merit. We will lose this example to the world as CRT gains are made.
Division is the agenda for America. The truth and discussion be dammed. The innocent always suffer in war.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff All That has been written concerning racism is correct.
The ideology of the KKK is very similar to Nazism.
The emancipation proclamation and the Civil War were excellent examples of What America stands for.
The progress of civil rights was limited in the 60s by the murder of two Christian white males and two black males one of which was Martin Luther King.
Do United States military has been an example of progress by individuals based on merit.
The tone in which you write as well as the corporal is based on hate.
Do we blame white people who got to this country after 1964 the deeds done to minorities in the Past?
How far back do we go in time? Did the Roman Empire?
We move forward as a team not judging by color are we get divided by color.
