Billy Gibbons was in a band called Moving Sidewalks and they opened for Hendrix when he was on his 1st US tour. During the tour Hendrix was on the Dick Cavite show an Dick said to Hendrix I heard your the greatest guitar player. Hendrix said no I have met him his name is Billy Gibbons. At least that's the way I heard it.
