(07 13 21) From article: A three-judge panel for the US appeals court for the Fourth Circuit on Tuesday ruled that the federal handgun ban against adults under 21 is unconstitutional.
The Majority Opinion by Judge Julius Richardson, a Trump appointee, referred to our Founding Fathers for guidance on the meaning of an “armed militia.”
“We first find that 18-year-olds possess Second Amendment rights,” Judge Julius Richardson wrote. “They enjoy almost every other constitutional right, and they were required at the time of the Founding to serve in the militia and furnish their own weapons. Our nation’s most cherished constitutional rights vest no later than 18. And the Second Amendment’s right to keep and bear arms is no different.”
The ruling, which is sure to be appealed, applies to 5 states of the 4th Circuit: Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Yes they do possess 2 A rights. Whether they are mature enough is another thing.

At one time. responsibility was something taught at home. I was taught from a very young age of the dangers of mishandling a firearm. Most kids no longer get disciplined by parents and do not understand consequences.

A lot of comments on this ruling express concerns about age and maturity. IMHO, it's culture and training. Again, IMHO, we 2A folks have to resist this bent toward infancy extending into late 20's, and set expectations of maturity, self control and responsibility at every age level.

Amen. If your old enough to enter the service and defend our country then your old enough to carry a gun. The state of Oklahoma recognizes that fact and allows 18 year olds that are in the military or National guard to carry without a license as were constitutional carry, this includes long guns.
