Thanks for posting this article. Do you think that the bird will adequately cover the entire mission given to it? Will say that it looks good in the photo but sometimes looks don't translate well to mission ability. Hopefully it will work as well as the BUFF.

I think it will if Congress allows the Air Force to buy all it wants. Unfortunately that hasn't been the case with costly weapon systems in the past. Got to remember the BUFF is from the days when need counted more than cost. Doubt that more than the "F" model would have been produced in today's Congressional budget atmosphere and that means we wouldn't have BUFFs flying today.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I agree the BUFF was built during a special era. But even then congress was looking and weighing since the Air Force had, what, five different, model bombers from the lat 40's to early 60's? I feel sure that had to be costly.
