Inflation is too many dollars chasing too few items. When the government prints money and dumps it on the economy, inflation is the tax we pay to fund the over printing of money. I don’t know what tactics make it better.

Tell that to some one on a fixed income and prices on everything have gone up but their income for this year.

Yea it doesn’t affect those who are still working. Their salaries will pretty much keep up with it. However if you are on a fixed income the only increases you can count on is in the SS check. If you are fortunate enough to get a Cola Medicare will take a good portion of it leaving very little thru out the year until the next adjustment.

It does affect those who are working at lower paying jobs, it makes it harder for them to make ends meet. And those on SSN usually get a cost of living increase but that might not come until the next year.

Sgt Stephen Brown - Salaries will keep up? I don't know about you, but nobody in my company got a raise last year. Salaries don't necessarily keep up with rising prices.
