This is a cultural war manifested by way of armed conflict and to complicate things we have layered on a western cultural imprint which has peeked the interest of the youth. Not surprisingly this has as well caused a resurgence of the conservative views held by the Taliban. As such not a good idea to start wearing mini skirts and dancing at co-ed discos in Kabul. I have a feeling the new and improved version of T'man will be way more sophisticated when this goes 2.0

And the military didn't know this was gonna happen? As soon as we pulled out of Vietnam the bad guys were knocking the gates down. History repeating itself.

Lt Col Charlie Brown 100% agree! And in 5 years, they will sit around and point fingers at whom is to blame... I am not for remaining in Afghanistan, but the last 10 years have been a failed mission. We should have focused our efforts differently and it would have been a completely different story.
