The Taliban are reportedly going door to door in search of “traitors” who collaborated with NATO forces or the now-fallen Afghan government. Taliban hunters are also threatening the family members of suspected “traitors.” However, despite this evidence, the Capitulator in Chief believes he can trust the Taliban's innate altruisms to allow these same people access to the Airport to be evacuated. Uh Huh - makes you feel warm all over doesn't it?

Nothing in that article shows that Democrats "trust the Taliban" more than "fellow Americans. That's pointing out how similar that some Republicans are to the Taliban with their mindset.
There are actually quite a lot of similarities between what Republicans want and what happens in the Handmaid's Tale. There are moments I wonder, should I be planning my escape with my daughter to Canada? Because there are a lot of similarities in the book and reality.
A lot of conservatives do actually want, in the US, the same things the Taliban wants. For years there's always been reference to the "Christian Taliban" in the US. This isn't new. Nothing in there said that Democrats trust the Taliban at all. It's pointing out the hypocrisy of the Republicans denouncing the Taliban when they want the same things as the Taliban.
