Good afternoon, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Solar System Ball Drop." Gravity is universal...but it is different throughout the Solar System, and likely throughout the universe. How different? On Earth, acceleration due to the force of gravity is 9.8 meters per second (squared). On the Sun, that force is nearly 28 times greater. Today's video clip visualizes this difference through an imaginary 'ball drop' from a height of 1 kilometer in each environment. Enjoy.

Neat. Been watching The Expanse on Amazon in the afternoons while this heat wave is on. Much action takes place on Ceres, and they try to simulate lower gravity but fall far short of the one thirtieth it would actually be.
