Case in point: Colleagues of former General Flynn described him using those words

Milley is all of that and more, in a bad way. Good men died who didn't have to because of his dereliction of duty. MHO.

SFC (Join to see) He was an arrogant jerk on Active Duty. It was always about him first and his troops second. His arrogance and narcissism were rewarded and now this alleged Officer has 13 dead service members on his hands

CWO4 Terrence Clark I am not contesting your heading "There’s A Problem In The Upper Reaches Of Our Military"... everone has a right to their own opinion... including the "Top Brass".

"Yet until Jan. 20, retired top brass had constantly smeared their elected commander in chief with impunity."

45 deserved every smear that was said about him... IMO. :-)

Regardless of whether or not he deserved every smear (and I would argue that almost as many were off target as were on, but that is a different debate), the point is that as retired officers they are not ALLOWED to make those smears. Yet they did so with (relative) impunity.

Of course, my guess is that any retired Officers saying similar things about Biden with also do so with equal impunity. So far, the only folks getting in trouble are ACTIVE Officers - and active Officers got in trouble under Trump, too.

Trump did a lot of things that he was rightfully criticized about.
Biden has also done a lot of things that he is rightfully being criticized about. The handling of Afghanistan is almost unprecedented in terms of loss of a Country's government, loss of over 100,000 weapons to terrorists, foreign fighters pouring into the Country, and more.
There is a very real probability that Afghanistan will be used by ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and other terrorist groups in the future to train, fund, equip, and spread terrorism throughout the World.

MSG (Join to see) - As usual I appreciate & respect your opinion. Yes both 45 & the POTUS have done things that they are criticized for. President Biden did something the previous four failed to do... brought the troops home. He had no idea the Afghan Leader would cut & run... even before the 300,000 or so Afghan Army that our Soldiers trained. Can you imagine what some would be said if President Biden didn't leave any weapons, equipment, supplies, etc.? I do agree that "There is a very real probability that Afghanistan will be used by ISIS, Al-Qaeda, and other terrorist groups in the future to train, fund, equip, and spread terrorism throughout the World." But that would happen regardless when the pull-out... that 45 approved... happened. IMO... I'm glad we at least agree on some things & respectfully dis-agree on other things.
Let me end on a positive that note no one will respond to... except you;
I appreciate what 45 did for the Veterans relating to the "Community Care" program that is now allowed with approval from the V.A.. I'm also appreciative of the "Fast Track" placed on the Covid Vaccine & the fact it was granted temporary approval for use after the initial trials.

Quote from the story: Think of the irony. If Milley considered a politicized resignation to rebuke Trump over the false charge, then surely he could consider a real resignation after overseeing the worst military disaster of the last half-century in Kabul.
Our County will not live down this stain on our National Honor in my lifetime. I am beside myself.

In Vietnam we trained the ARVN to fight and gave them arms and Airforce. We pulled out and even though they did fight for a while, the folded up leaving equipment behind, nothing like AFGANs though. The AFGANs didn’t even try to slow them up. Who ever said they were a viable organization was either a fool or giving the party line. I would like to hear from the Trainers about the quality of the forces they trained or were the AFGANS just showing up for the “beer”?MSgt Steve Sweeney

SFC James Welch - Solid point, but I don't believe the Afghan National Army folding like a cheap shirt can be placed entirely at Biden's feat after we spent 20 years dumping money, time, and effort into the ANA. They didn't just start showing up for the "beer" on Biden's watch, and I can bet you plenty of money the same people responsible for 20 years of waste were involved in making the estimates. And keep in mind, Biden was a lone voice in the Obama administration against the "surge". It isn't like it would go any better if any other President were to take the action on the same or more expedient (Trump) timeline. The only other option would be to stay and continue to perpetuate the lie. If you want to see some details, check out the SIGAR reports. I can provide a link if needed.
