On September 11, 1814, the Americans defeated the British at the Battle of Plattsburgh during War of 1812. An excerpt from the article:

Stationed at Plattsburgh AFB for FB-111 training and this battle is well remembered in city history.

SGT (Join to see) A brother-in-law who lived in Northern Vermont took me to the Commissary in Plattsburgh where he shopped. As we exited, everyone got a pint of Ben & Jerry’s with a plastic spoon to eat it with on the return trip to Highgate Springs, VT.

SGT (Join to see) In that era, Ben and Jerry’s was the iconic Ice Cream of Vermont. The late wife after a visit to Ben & Jerry’s display creamery with a small herd of Holsteins, thereafter referred to Holstein Cows as Ben & Jerry cows.
