Personally I don't believe that there's any way of rolling back social media, but we should continue to learn about the potential impact it has on our society.

It makes me wonder if in 20 or 30 years, we'll have enough data to support the claim that it's bad enough for our health that it'll have age restrictions similar to gambling or alcohol sales.

Not sure about comparing social media to gambling or alcohol. It may be more like television or radio with certain ratings of programs and content regulation similar to what FCC currently does.
