'Never seen anything like this': Detroit, DTE officials without answers on road buckling

This is an interesting unanswered mystery. I was in charge of PA DEP-BAMR investigations for the Wilkes Barre District Office when we had an occurrence of some sort of pressure that was crushing a house (foundation cracking, doors and windows not closing, etc.) in Pittston, Pa. Our determination was that it was not mining related. The house was down slope of the road that had utilities present, and may had has hydraulic pressure. I don’t know if they ever determined the cause that was crushing the house. Sometimes we just don’t know, that’s not easy to take.
