In Submarine Deal With Australia, U.S. Counters China but Enrages France

Apparently the Aussies were supposed to buy some subs from France. International trade deals like this are big bucks.

It is great that the U.S. has signed a military business deal with Australia, but at the cost of a European ally is not a good one. Alliance in the east and west are necessary to make missions meaningful. The U.S. needs France in alliance in Europe and Africa.
