Clicks and impressions drives the ad world. It is a staple for profit. Driving content that generates views, positive or negative, to generate ad revenue is as bad as misinformation itself. Social and broadcast media are not immune from a profit motive. Broadcast media drives viewership through disgusting campaigns and attacks to generate ad revenue also. cnn is a prime example, their ratings dropped as soon as Trump was no longer in office and he was banned from twitter because they didn't have a medium through which to attack him. Every strategy the mainstream media uses comes straight out of rules for radicals, a marxist manifesto created for the 60's hippies who sit on the corporate boards and now run those agencies.
