DeSantis tops Crist, Fried in poll of Florida governor race

Florida used to be a solid blue State at the State level. It started changing about 20 years ago. For the past 10 years or so, it has been more red with the GOP consistently winning the Governor office, almost all of the cabinet, control of the house and senate, and more recently, more conservatives than liberals on the State Supreme Court.
Since 1952, Florida has only voted 5 times for a Democrat President including both terms of Obama. Trump won twice.
As a sign of how strong the GOP is in Florida, in 2018 and 2020, Democrats were dumping truck loads of outside the State money to win a Senate and Governor seat and came up short each time. In fact they lost House seats in areas that were previously solid Democrat.

Florida has always been regarded as a location for retirement. In recent years, there are more people moving here away from high tax States (Florida has no State income tax), relatively lower prices, and pleasant weather. With businesses relocating to Florida, more jobs as well. If you like water sports, you are never more than an hour away from either the East or West coast beaches and there are lakes throughout the State.

PFC David Foster - I guess older Citizens just have a better understanding of right from wrong and don't want to see America fundamentally changed! Rebuilding America's standing in the world will be a hard thing to accomplish after Bidens Administration has worked so diligently at lowering America's standing on everything, from pulling us out of Afghanistan without informing our allies first. And watching those same allies going outside the wire to save not only there citizens but some of ours too. While our troops were instructed to stay inside the wire. Then the fiasco from moving us from a self satining energy independent country. To one that relies on us buying it from our enemies. Enriching them at the sametime hurting our economy! Then their the issue of the wide open boarder dumping 100s of 1000s illegals into our country. Mostly to suck off of the tit of social services for generations. Then treating parents as terrorist at school board meetings. And asking the FBI to get involved instead of leaving it to local authorities. So now we can see what kind of America we will have under this socialist movement if it gets total control of our nation.
