On this day, LTC George Custer was buried at West Point, about a year after he had underestimated the ability of the Indians at the Little Big Horn.

Not only did Custer underestimate the ability of the Indians at Greasy Grass as the native Americans referred to it but also their Numbers. One of Custer’s scouts Bloody Knife warned Custer but Custer didn’t listen.

Capt Gregory Prickett
He never listened. That's one of the reasons he was busted back to LTC after the Civil War.
