Yes, even this officer acknowledges he should face a court martial. The degree of punishment however will be telling.

If I recall correctly, he said he probably will, not that he should.

Personally, it warmed my heart to hear him speak. He did what a leader is supposed to: he saw something that was fundamentally wrong, and he called it out. I think that he was right.

Yes, by his own choice.

“ In the same video, Scheller said the Marine Corps had offered him “a very fair deal,” including nonjudicial punishment rather than court-martial and an agreement to give up his retirement pay and resign his commission. Scheller would accept a general discharge under honorable conditions. He acknowledged that making the video “might destroy that deal.””
