Face it whether we like it or not, China see's themselves as the rightful masters of all of South East Asia. Their doctrine is based on a belief that SE Asia is theirs alone and that their destiny is to rule the world. As far as they are concerned we are in the way and will be removed eventually. Consider the fact they they are building very large nuclear ice breakers, (comparable to Russia's Arktika-class,) as well as smaller ice breakers just slightly smaller than our new Arctic Security Cutters under construction. Then consider they have no cold water ports and no arctic interests.
