I quite sure that he did, but he was a zealot intent on making a prophecy come true and had lots of financial backing.

The real issue, is did Christ perform miracles and rise form the dead. Did G-d really live inside a human body, live a perfect life and die for the sins of mankind and concur death? So, there would be a way for an imperfect creation to be seen perfect by the Creator?
If you do not believe in sin, then you have nothing to worry about. Perhaps, everything is relative? Whatever feels good, do it. You evolved from a monkey who evolved from a ?

"You evolved from a monkey who evolved from a ?" shows a complete lack of understanding of evolution. Monkeys and humans, both primates, evolved from a common ancestor. Monkeys are either New World (Platyrrhini) or Old World (Cercopithecidae) and the Great Apes (Hominidae) split from what would become the Old World monkeys about 30 million years ago, + or -. The split between the New and Old World was before that.
Our closest evolutionary relatives are actually the chimpanzee and the bonobo.

Capt Gregory Prickett - You state your faith. It can not be proven. But you are free to believe as you wish. Notice the Bible verse on clearing seeing G-d's work.
The DNA of Cro-Magnon, us, showed up 40,000yrs ago out of the blue. All cultures have a flood tale. The Bible does not say when Adam was created and some have tried to point to a 6,000yr creation. The Bible reads a day is like a 1000yrs to G-d as G-d is not contained to our time and space. Also, if Einstein is 100% correct, the past and future are happening at the same time. Which means we are in a contained space.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - I don't use faith, Mark. Mainly because I don't need to, I have evidence that supports my beliefs. Faith is only necessary when people don't have evidence.
On Early Modern Humans (the scientific label now used for what you call Cro-Magnon), they were first identified in that area of Europe, 40,000 years ago, but subsequent research shows that they came from Africa as long as 350,000 years ago.
