Is there a reason that you omitted atheists from the list of people killed by Hitler's final solution?

MAJ Montgomery Granger Capt Prickett and I rarely agree. But he is not a troll. He, generally speaking, puts forth reasoned thought and supports his arguments. He, generally speaking, writes respectfully and engages in actual debate rather than ad hominem.

Of course, he's usually wrong <removes tongue from cheek>. But he's not a troll.

SFC Casey O'Mally - Thanks. I have learned to ignore Monty's ad hominem responses, which seems to be his usual response to those he doesn't agree with or approve of.

Oh, and BTW, I'm usually right (lol).

I respect Mr. Weisel both for his fortitude in surviving a traumatic and tragic experience for his continued passionate calls for reason and empathy.

I completely understand what he is saying, and, for the most part, I agree. Our speech - even the distasteful speech - MUST remain protected. However, comma, pause....

Freedom of speech and acceptance or even tolerance of speech are two different things. You have a right to say whatever you want. I have no obligation to listen. And if I am a platform, I have no obligation to host your speech, either. Because in forcing acceptance we then approach the same problem, just from a different angle.

Silencing unpopular opinions is bad for society. But so is forced acceptance (or forced listening, airtime, platforming, whatever term you want to use here) of them.

I do not have a solution, but I do know that it lies somewhere on the middle, without embracing either extreme.
