What would we do without public schools! They eliminate 50 problems for every one they cause.

Schools solve exactly three problems:
1) Educating the youth
2) What to do with kids while parents work
3) Socialization of children in a controlled environment

That's it. Any other "problem" they are "solving" is either: one of their own making; a straw man; a situation where they are stripping parents of their rights, authority, and/or responsibility (and thus, not their problem to solve); or a situation where they are actually making problems worse in the long run, not solving them.

SFC Casey O'Mally - I was speaking for each individual problem of each child, and of each parent. Just in one school and with just one of your points, #2, it solves hundreds of problems every day at one school.

PFC David Foster - In that case, every time a school enacts a dress code, it creates hundreds of problems, every day, at one school. Every time a school insists on stocking elementary and middle school libraries with porn, it creates hundreds of problems, every day, at one school. Etc.
