Yea, that really sucked when they managed to block Obama from having a pick on the court for over an entire year, claiming it should be the next Presidents pick. Then, during Trump's last month, that rule no longer applied. We should have revolted over that. Seriously, we now have a lifetime of unfairly seated Judges because of Trump's dishonest way of doing everything.

My wife and I have been giving some serious thought regarding the expat life, particularly if our democracy winds up heading toward a fascist demagoguery... again.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - The US has never been a "democracy," and trying to redefine our system of government as such used to be viewed as sedition. Luckily for you the Sedition Act was put down 101 years ago. Speaking of redefining, fascisti in Italian simply meant a group, specifically any political group, and "extreme right wing" is nowhere within the actual definition before its being redefined with that label.

Fascism - a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

None of the actual tenents of fascism are "right wing," they are socialist. Socialism and Fascism are but two sides of the same, worthless, coin.

Critical Theory is the socialist process used to redefine and separate in order to conquer.

SGT (Join to see) - have to agree, we are a constitutional republic not a democracy, that take a parliment and they need a maj. to govern mostly with another party and can't seem to do anything either

Sgt Jim Belanus - It's just a play on words, we are both. Here is the definition of democracy, what part of this are we not? Democracy is a form of government in which the people have the authority to deliberate and decide legislation, or to choose governing officials to do so. Who is considered part of "the people" and how authority is shared among or delegated by the people has changed over time and at different rates in different countries, but over time more and more of a democratic country's inhabitants have generally been included. Cornerstones of democracy include freedom of assembly, association and speech, inclusiveness and equality, citizenship, consent of the governed, voting rights, freedom from unwarranted governmental deprivation of the right to life and liberty, and minority rights.
