What makes you think it is okay for one sovereign nation to tell another sovereign nation what weapons and technology they may or may not possess?

Cpl Mark A. Morris - Not really answering the question. For you, personally, why do you feel it is okay for one sovereign nation to dictate to another sovereign nation what weapons and technology they may or may not have? What makes it okay in your mind? Also, yes, Iran is a sovereign nation regardless of who is involved with their program. Part of being sovereign is getting to make those choices for yourself, and consider one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. I am sure King George considered all the revolutionaries in the colonies "terrorists".

Now consider that, oh, Saudi Arabia stumbles across some new technology that has vast implications on warfare... lets say limited time travel or speed of light travel technology. Then they, (the Saudis) say not only can the U.S. not have said technology, but if the U.S. tries to develop the technology that Saudi Arabia will take active measures from preventing the U.S. to develop said technology. What kind of reaction do you think that would get?

Consider that the U.S. has nuclear weapons and is the only country to ever actually use nuclear weapons against someone else. Also consider that Iran has never invaded another country... let that play into your calculus.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - Regardless of what I think, there is an international issue that is moving forward between Iran and many other countries. Not just the US. With an Islamic terrorist group in charge of Iran's nuclear program, the question of sovereignty maybe more complicated than the definition in Webster's.
If you are going to carry water for a sponsor of Islamic terrorism globally, can you be so kind as to write why you are doing so? Also, please stop ignoring my question in the original post. It would be helpful for dialog on an subject that may draw the US into a regional, if not a global war.

Cpl Mark A. Morris - Most things are regardless of what you think. No need to clarify there. I am just curious if you ever considered the topic from an outside perspective. That said, not sure which question you want answered from your rambling, poorly constructed OP, but point it out and I will give it a shot. But given your poor grasp of the English language, why should I consider your opinion on the meaning of the word "sovereign"?

And what, exactly, do you propose to resolve with this dialog? Where is it going? What are you advocating?

If all the nations pushing Iran for compliance with oversight, complied with the same they are demanding of Iran, then the problem might not exist. Add to that any nations not agreeing to comply need to suffer the same consequences Iran has been suffering for not doing so . . . and see what happens. Imho. that is not a regional mess U.S.A. needs to be involved in or be pressured into doing the dirty work of for the other nations that will not comply but push Iran to do so.
