"In exchange for his agreement to exit the McDonald’s system and dismiss his pending litigation, McDonald’s has purchased the 13 restaurants owned by Washington for $33.5 million. The company said the amount is what it deems to be a fair price for the restaurants."

That's because you settled!!!!! That's basically an admission that there were violations but you knew that going to court would shed light on those violations!!!
