Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen Yea... he never made it from his second heart surgery on Dec 20th, 1973.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20 (AP) —Bobby Darin, whose combination of brashness, good looks and talent made him one of the nation's leading singers of popular songs, died today at the age of 37, the victim of heart ailments that had shadowed much of his life.

The singer underwent openheart surgery yesterday in the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. In 1971, surgeons implanted two artificial valves in his heart. Malfunctioning of the valves led to a six‐hour operation yesterday, and the four‐surgeon team said he was “just too weak to, recover.”

He left a will directing that his body be given to medical science, and it was taken to the University of California here for use in research.

SGT (Join to see) All that I can remember is that when you played his songs during basement parties in the early 60s the girls would go crazy.
