There are many that I had planned to visit until this COVID scrap started. I think this spring I'm going to pack up the wife and dogs and get back to traveling a bit. The Smokey Mountains when Spring blooms is Spectacular. Sometimes you don't even have to go that far to be awestruck by the beauty of this wonderful country.

Truth. We've been to the Smokies several times (it's pretty close to us) and it is awesome. You can check out the newest National Park in West Virginia- we got to see the southern end...plan to visit the northern end in the spring

Lt Col Charlie Brown - The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is about 75 miles from me. My favorite place to go hiking and take in nature's wonders. Winter is great in the high elevations.

Ah, the Grand Canyon. It was awesome last year, no tourists so we had the place to ourselves. Downside is that my favorite Canyon restaurant is closed due to lack of tourism. The snow is spectacular, although this year we went before the snow fell. With Covid and school, you do what you can when you can.
I have the disabled Veteran pass, free admission to National Parks. I also have the Arizona state parks pass, and could have a free hunting and/or fishing license. Since I’m a hiking/camping/outdoors/National Parks kind of guy, I’ve taken full advantage of the fact that I get in free with my carload of family. I want to instill in my son the love of the outdoors, so it’s a great fit.

If you don’t have a pass, just ask at your local park, or check out the NP website for details.
