I find this as the scary stuff that COVID came from. Man messing with organisms we don't fully understand could be the death of us all.

MSgt Dale Johnson I often wonder about the comprehensiveness of safety precautions, and lack thereof, when messing around with the new organisms.
Are there international agreements that include standards, and transparency that requires informing all nations of new discoveries, and requires engaging in transparent joint research for which responsibility is taken (come hell or high water) unlike the lack of transparency associated with joint research of covid (and who knows what else)! Such agreements might be what empowers peaceful coexistence at least until governments start competing to weaponize new discoveries then make their research secret. But that too could be included in standards, requiring compliance little different than required complience with nuclear capability.<sigh>
