She was never given the VP slot because of her intelligence, it was because she checked a couple of boxes.

The result of picking attributes over qualifications. When looking at the Democratic 2020 presidential race the more she talked the worse she did - losing in her own state. Not surprised with her performance as VP. From starting out in the top three to dropping out - yet Biden and his brain trust picked her - even after she called him a racist on national TV.
