As much as I would like to blame Democrats, this not nothing new. Our governments - at both the state and federal levels - are HORRIBLE at preventing fraud. And have been under both Republican and Democratic leadership.

Yes, massive government spending gives more avenues for fraud. But the problem isn't the spending, here, it is the horrible government oversight.

(Now, I am not saying the spending isn't a problem. Just that is it not THE problem in THIS story.)

I agree, completely. Our government has measured success by dollars spent rather than accomplishments made, for over 50 years. There is never a problem too big throwing billions of dollars at it won't make it look like "We tried". It gets them reelected, so I don't blame them. I blame us for reelecting them.
