Putin is pushing the envelope and the talk of sanctions is not going to do much of anything, agree. The EU will most likely cave as long as they are at least somewhat dependent on Russian natural gas. As much as I disagree with Biden's approach, it is not all him. Trump delegates made changes to the 2016 Republican political platform that weakened its support for Ukraine. And in 2019, Trump withheld congressionally appropriated funding for Ukraine to support its defense against Russia. I'm hoping Biden has the guts to take a stronger stand and gets Congressional cooperation if he does. I'm not putting any money on it however.

Lol, I believe it was Trump that sent Javlin missiles to Ukraine. Obama and Biden sent blankets. Germany gets about 50% of its natural gas from Russia. We get 7% of our oil from Russia. I think Russia holds the major cards since, once again Saudi Arabia turned down Biden. Saudi Arabia isn’t forgetting Obama and Biden backed Iran over Saudi Arabia and stabbed Saudi Arabia in the back.

You are right, Pres. Trump did send the Javelins, desperately needed given the Russians tank corps:
"Trump appears to be echoing a critique leveled at the Obama administration by the late Republican Sen. John McCain. “The Ukrainians are being slaughtered and we’re sending blankets and meals,” McCain said in 2015. “Blankets don’t do well against Russian tanks.”

While it never provided lethal aid, many of the items that the Obama administration did provide were seen as critical to Ukraine’s military. Part of the $250 million assistance package that the Trump administration announced (then froze and later unfroze) included many of the same items that were provided under Obama, including medical equipment, night vision gear and counter-artillery radar.

The Trump administration did approve the provision of arms to Ukraine, including sniper rifles, rocket launchers and Javelin anti-tank missiles, something long sought by Kiev."

PO2 Marco Monsalve - We disagree a bit on what happened in the Trump Administration. The situation is always fluid and what is right today may not have been right 4 years ago. The main difference between Biden and Trump that makes Biden a failure is that Trump is able to learn from his small failures and revise policies and actions in time to be successful overall, Biden just can't do this, never could. Biden makes up his mind about something, and it’s the kiss of death; he was being briefed for 9 months that Afghanistan was going to fall into a situation that isn’t good for us or our people and what did Biden do? Nothing. This situation with Russia, we've seen it coming for a long time and what did Biden do, he let the French President go and talk with Putin; Biden basically did nothing. It's the history of his life, how many bills did he write in 50 years? He is a very weak person and should not be in a position of responsibility. We always get what we vote for.

SFC (Join to see) - Hate to say it after hearing Trump's comments yesterday it convinces me more than ever that he has been and will be in Putin's pocket. His comments when we have troops heading overseas are at best wrongheaded and at worst show that he has little or no understanding of what is happening. Not in support of Biden but hoping we start looking for a better alternative to Trump for 2024.

And Sleepy/Creepy Joe answers with a whimper.
What a turd.

Then again, Ukraine really does nothing for us. They're a autocratic state who offers the US nothing, other than money for Hunter.

I can appreciate what you say. Looking at everything equally we have an interest in energy costs and inflation that’s going to get much worse because of this. Is it good for the world for Russia to control all the energy output for a continent? It’s the job of our leaders to develop a strategy that would back Russia down without us putting boots on the ground. Trump handled several situations at the same time from China, the Middle East, Rocket Man, and others; and found peace for the world. Biden can only send France’s President to talk with Russia. God help us!!! We always get what we vote for.
