COMMENT: The tax debacle on John Kerry's yacht is old news but given his current duties it's worth mentioning in this commentary. Our energy czar owned a yacht named Isabel that got Kerry into hot water when media reports revealed he and his wife skirted a $437,500 Massachusetts state tax bill by keeping the yacht in Newport.
The Isabel is a 76' motorsailer that while under sail is wind-driven and when not it's powered with a diesel engine. The engine can also be used under sail to power the air conditioning and other electrical devices aboard the yacht when underway. There was no solar used aboard the yacht.
John Kerry also has a private jet for transportation. It's not powered by wind or solar either. Private jets like the one owned by John Kerry’s family, emit around 40 times as much carbon per passenger as commercial flights. The Kerry family’s private jet is a Gulfstream GIV-SP.
In short, John Kerry, who was selected by U.S. President-elect Joe Biden to serve as climate envoy, owns six homes, two yachts, 12 cars, and a private jet. John Kerry does advocate buying American, but his yacht was built in another country and brokered in RI. His wife owns an Audio Quattro and the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles shows ownership of a gas-guzzling Chevrolet Suburban SUV. It would seem John Kerry's rhetoric on green energy lacks conviction unless it's for someone else like the tax-paying citizens of the United States.

Protection of Political Office Integrity (PPOI)
Section 1. The right of all citizens of the United States to know that any person who is duly elected or appointed an official of the government of United States of America in service to "We the people" shall at least 90-days prior to the election of or consideration for appoint to offices as outline in Section 3 be required to place their personal wealth including all business and other interest into a blind professionally managed trust for the duration of their elected or appointed length of service.
Section 2. While in a blind trust during the elected or appointed tour of service all appropriate taxes will be paid as the law requires.
Section 3. This shall include but is not limited to those seeking the office of President of the United States, Vice-President of the United States, all members of the Congress in both houses, the United States Supreme Court, all Cabinet Officials, all Directors of Departments in all federally sanctioned services, all Ambassadors, and other such federal level officials as the Congress my direct.
Section 4. The Congress shall have the power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation to assure the transparency of the management of these offices in the best interests of the people of the United States of America and not those holding the offices of special trust as outlined in Section 2.

It seems reasonable to me that our political class needs a wake-up call. I wonder how many on Rp believe this is needed. Just floating the question for pro/con discussion.

If it's on the books then it must apply CPO Nate S. However, in the case of John Kerry has most of their assets at in his wife's name that has a prenup agreement in a trust. At least that's what he points to when questioned. It's an idea similar to Nancy Pelosi who expressed it was her husband who made the investments that increase their net worth over the last year by over $100 million dollars, and she advised he is a private citizen enabling him to invest as he sees fit.

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD - Pelosi, Kerry excuses about who has what investments. Crock of C_____! Placing ALL family assets in blind trust! Removes the excuse. The whole he is a private citizen is just an excuse to be abusive of the system. Divesting during time in office will be the beginning term limits because blind trust puts pressure on in a manner the little else can. If the immediate family husband, wife, children, mother, father, brothers, sisters know that the principle will have to place all assets in blind trust then perhaps some behaviors might begin to change. From the prenup perspective I am not sure I care. ALL assets go into Blind Trust!!! The threat of influence is great and should be neutralized!!!
