Used to be that vocational education was for those who couldn't make it academically. Now it is for those who are wise!

I read a few years back that NYC had a 10-15 year backlog on projects due to shortages of trained trades people. I believe it has gotten even worse. Started in the late 80s disparaging the trades as universities saw the money in more students regardless of the universities grad rate. Saw the dollar signs giving birth to the explosion of college loans.
