LA will still be washing cars and wasting water (they are in a desert and have no real water of their own) because they are "entitled".

People may be able to live where they will in a free Country, but they are also free to pay more and/or do without... as long as they're happy with that.

SFC (Join to see) When farmers in California’s Central Valley, (think Fresno area), pump so much water from underground that the earth sinks, water canals are unable to move that water because the canal is no longer ‘level’ there is a problem. Surveyors report the earth in that area has sunken fifteen feet or more due to all of the underground water being pumped out.,

SFC (Join to see) CA must save the “fish” by allowing water to flow to the Pacific rather than allowing farmers to use it. The state is mandating
cities add a certain number of housing units on the next ten years. Newport Beach, a city of ? 100,000 is to add 4,000 units. Housing they mandate, new water storage facilities or desalinization plants are not a item of concern. Dams destroy “nature”. Desal plants are ugly and face huge problems getting permits from a myriad of government agencies!

CSM Charles Hayden - Some people decide to live in a situation where they constantly want. If that is their choice, OK, but they need to spend their own money for what I consider to be an outrageous lifestyle in a geographic area that doesn't support it. They shouldn't be spending my tax dollars to fund their extravagant infrastructure.

PO1 Sam Deel - I agree with you but also what to point out that you can put infrastructure responsibly in coastal areas. It's when you start putting it in areas that aren't suitable where you get in trouble.

Southern California is a succubus. Takes States to keep it afloat. And for what? A bunch of Progressive-Liberals to demand how the rest of the Nation needs to be. Southern Cal would not exist without all of the Federal money spent over the past 150 years. The rest of the States should be telling California how to act.

As for the Farmers getting the water, they are...in MEXICO!!! The US has a water treaty with Mexico that they get a certain amount of water from the Colorado. This water is partly used to keep Mexican produce farms operating at full capacity. This treaty, NAFTA and its replacement are all examples of why American Farms have been cut to the knees, forced to grow soy beans and corn for ethanol.

There are many reasons people moved to California, especially during WW 2. I am sure there are many proud people there with traditions that go way back, but the water they need isn’t there. I agree with you. That it seems to be a bed of Progressive Marxist Democrats that creates ideas that will change our Country to Socialism, and eventually Communism if they are successful, will be the downfall of our nation.

Thank you for the lesson of water resources in the Colorado Basin.

SFC (Join to see) - Knowledge is power. Observation is key to obtaining that knowledge. There is just so much out there that Citizens just take for granted, like the Government having our concerns, safety and well-being as their primary interest.
