For a young woman, with only 4 years in Congress, with a yearly salary around $174k, she has an estimated net worth of $100-500k. So, I guess capitalism is good for thee but not for thee. Hmmm!.

MAJ Roland McDonald - And now is where I get to issue my own mea culpa. I did VERY bad math, somehow. That total should be around $9300, not $5500. Which means that yes, after taxes, she is living paycheck to paycheck. Or she has to find ways to cut down those expenses (likely the debt payments can be cut to $1K / month, freeing up another $2K for savings).
Of course, I did go STUPID high on all my estimates (on purpose), so she can also find savings in there, likely. I still believe I could live in NYC on $140K / year, but I am debt free (aside from mortgages), which makes a big difference.

Obviously Boston University professors of economics have no clue how economics works. And graduating cum laude tells me you don't have to work hard to graduate with honors.
