Lt Col Charlie Brown I hear that this is a very lengthy process to upgrade discharges taking years to get a review of your records. However, in the end if a former service member succeeds it will be worth it.

It is but it can be worth a huge amount in benefits to the former member.

I'm sure there's the odd case where an altar boy got railroaded, but 99.999% of the time, if you aren't a dipshit, you don't need your discharge upgraded. And if you are a dipshit, you don't deserve an upgrade. I was involved in one OTH and one BCD, and both were RICHLY deserved. One was dealing drugs in the barracks and the other was defrauding the government using the company credit card. Both should have been BCDs, but that wasn't up to me.
